Dzbog, Thorlaen, and Frimsi meet at the Emberbeard feast hall to sample new drinks. Dzbog gets an idea for a wager: whoever makes the better cocktail wins. Thorlaen would be the judge. Frimsi doesn't like his odds against such a skilled brewer as Dzbog, so Dzbog offers to only use abnormal ingredients so as to even the odds. After a brief alcohol-induced nap, Thorlaen decides that Frimsi is the winner!
