The intoxicating smell of frankincense lay heavy in the air and her skin shone with the light of numerous candles placed around the silk and velvet drenched, windowless room. It was peaceful, relaxing, and the oils rubbed slowly into her skin were soothing her aching muscles as she lay upon her stomach.

-"She was bold to ask you such a question, did you answer?"

Jessiwick, eyes shut and in blissful relaxation, lazily gave a smile before responding

"Yes, and no..  She asked the wrong question. I knew what she wished to know, yet her words allowed me to give an answer, one that was true, but not the one she sought."

She was met with quiet laughter, though it did not stop the person performing their task. Firm hands held warmed and smoothed river rocks, that rubbed against the back of Jessiwicks legs.

-"And will you ever give her that answer?"

"Perhaps, I enjoy her company. Though I find most who speak with me, and him, want to know that answer. The only business it is of theirs is of a personal nature, wanting to either know him better, or I...if you understand my meaning. Ah, careful of the right hip area, he was a little rough"

They were careful, especially around the slight bruising, but their touch although uncomfortable there, soon calmed the inflammation.

-"A mystery, let them guess until it drives them to madness, it is what I do"

"He is just as bad. Keeping people guessing that is, and about many things. Though, he seems open toward me, with the exception of one thing, but I suppose we all have our secrets."

-"The woman you spoke of.."

"The petulant child?"

The person laughed again, a soft, melodic tone to it

"Apparently they shared words, rather, he lost his patience with her. A difficult thing to do, to annoy him. No doubt she'll probably assume it to be a passionate response because he is desperately in love with her...which I hasten to add, he is not"

-" And the other woman? The deaf one? "

" If I were blind, I would still see that she has a fondness for him. It amuses me, how they all behave, not just those toward him, but toward me also. Hinting at this and that, trying to pull little threads to slowly unravel what they wish to know. I confess, the men are ever so slightly bolder in their questioning than the women."

The pat to the back of the leg indicated that her session was over. Gradually she got to a sitting position, her body warm and her mind at ease. She stared at the tall, blonde woman before her and went about replacing her garments.

-" Drink water, When do you both leave? "

She did as instructed as she was offered a gilded cup of it, taking a few sips before giving her answer

"Very soon. The woman wishes us to find her father, it means returning to the birth land. It has been some time since I have seen someone so very ill. Yet, she recovers, thankfully.  I only hope when we do find him, he will be hale and hearty, and not have met his unfortunate demise. Then of course it is the matter of the mother, by the stars it sounds terribly grim..."

The figure did not make comment as she walked to a corner of the room, only to return a brief moment later with a cloth bag, no bigger than a small loaf of bread. The contents made the bag seem lumpy, and it was handed over

-" As you asked."

Jessiwick took the bundle and got to her feet to slip into her shoes. A bow of the head was given, as was her habit whenever bidding another farewell

" You have my thanks and upon my return, I shall visit you again"

She left, the soft chime of little bells catching the door, following her down the cobblestone path.
