Backstory

This is a summary of Cally's backstory in verse, because I felt like it. It's more detail than you're likely to get from her in game, because she doesn't spill her personals to every friendly face, she can be a bit shy sometimes.

So if you meet her in game don't RP that you know this stuff, unless you are one of the few she has actually opened to.

Cally me, a Gondor girl, from the distant south.

From those far off sunny lands, near the river's mouth.

From fair woods of Ithilien, where bay and olive groves

Rise steepling from the willowed banks in little sheltered coves.

My kin were of the north long since, but fled these empty lands

When Fornost razed, north kingdom blazed, at Angmar's evil hands.

To south land came, and new home made in hidden woodland glen:

Sidhvelhad called, our peaceful place, in fair Ithilien.

Long lived we there without a care, while the shadow grew

And others fled over Anduin: but we stayed for we knew

To hide, and safe abide in our secret dell.

Forgotten we by enemy and steward's men as well.

Long years we hid, but in the end no hiding can sustain:

We lived in peace and bothered none, but still the southrons came.

Our village burnt, our people slain by blade of Haradrim

And we then to the forests fled, planning vengeance grim.

And murder did we, many times, in sudden ambush fight.

And hatred in our hearts we nursed,

With bitter vengeful thoughts we cursed

All southrons, all, of each degree, each kind, each type:

Just let them fall, and in the woods abandoned lie,

Unmourned, unloved, just let them die!

And so a thousand men were slain who'd never been at Sidhvelhad,

But for the flag they bore, the kin they had, and their dark and evil lord.

Five years I fought with bow and sword

In Gondor's war, my heart enraged, killed all I saw

Who I thought foe, and would have murdered more.

Till once I woke in woods alone, all dead my friends and kin;

And came upon one wounded dying of the Haradrim.

He looked a man, as other men, who dreamed of peace and home;

A sweet faced boy, who once as I ran laughing in the woods

And swam the streams, and lived in love and joy.

I held his head, and water gave, and sang him songs I thought forgot.

With eyes and touch he thanked me then,

And as he passed I lost a friend.

But found my tears to wash him with, and now he

Not abandoned lies, both mourned and loved, in fair Ithilien.

And then

I left the war, and left Gondor, and walked away from hate,

Went seeking life instead of strife, I sought a better fate.

And some then me coward called, because I fled from fight,

When in truth I ran towards life and love and light.

The greater coward would remain, and be unchanged,

A hateful murderous wretch;

Fighting on and coming soon unto an easy death.

A year I walked, in countries strange,

Went I forth into the north,

Through wood and moor to Eriador.

Ancestors mine, from Arthedain had long since fled this ground

To seek a place of peace and love, which here I found

In these fair lands they left.

So now do I dwell happy here,

And my hunter's bow kills beasts for feasts,

Not men, as it did back then, in Gondor.

I am a killer still, 'tis true, but not of you,

For it is the trade I learned in war

That now I ply in peace.

So that's Cally, me, a Gondor girl, from those distant lands:

Trying now to live with love, and not blood upon my hands.
