My dear Telpenaro,
I have asked what scholars I could find -- minus Sorontar, who is off doing falconry things, and Anglador, who rests by day so that he can observe Varda's jewels at night -- and we all agreed we could give a home to one of the kittens when they are ready to leave Mintel's side.
Thinking it over, I would most awfully like to have the little one that is only calico on one side of her body, as if someone had poured ink on her. Given her extremely unusual marking, I should like to name her Pica,* if you do not think it unsuited -- because if there is one constant among us, in our various fields of research, it is that we are always making spots of ink.
I also mentioned the kittens to Curulinn, and we discussed that the vibrating noise produced by a cat is something both of us have wanted to try on patients, so she may come and visit you at your mutual convenience to see the kittens as well. One of the old tomes from the chest mentions that the vibrating noise is thought to improve the healing of bones. It is well worth a try!
Thank you again for the pie, and any conclusions you draw about the author of that cooking book.
Yours fondly,
Airesarë Celulinda "Manadhlaer"
* Translator's note: The writer has chosen to name the cat "Spot" in Quenya.
