Chronicle Summary
The stories of a young woman and her two young charges as they struggle to make a life for themselves. From Dale to Bree their road has brought them, and they know not what else is in store.

A collection of stories told from the narrative POV of Swanhildr, a young woman from the Dale-lands who has taken charge of two orphaned siblings. She has little money to her name and no home herself in Bree, but is determined to see her charges safe.
