Outward Appearance

Swanhildr is a young woman from the Dale-lands. Dark blonde locks fall over skin fair though tanned from working in the sun. A spray of freckles sits along her nose and cheeks. Despite being notably youthful, the dark circles under her eyes and sunken appearance of her face make her appear wearied, or as if she hasn't eaten properly in some time.

Swanhildr is a young Barding who was raised in the Kingdom of Dale. Her parents were fisher-people and traveled often to the Long Lake, dealing with merchants in Dale and Lake-Town alike. Her family did not live comfortably, but they were not struggling for food, either. This changed after a storm sent her parents' boat overturning. When they did not come home, she was left to fend for herself.

Now a young woman with a penchant for trouble, she tried to follow in her parents' footsteps and be a fisher-woman and a merchant. When that failed to pan out,  she resorted to thievery to keep herself fed. When this led to finding herself often at odds with the Watchmen of Dale, she split her time between residing in the city and doing odd jobs for those who lived on the eastern edges of the Mirkwood. Far and safe from the eyes of the larger settlements.

When granted the chance to join a caravan heading westwards from Dale, she jumped at the opportunity. Although she had hoped to find a new life away from the troubles of the Dale-lands, the caravan only found trouble along the road. Mercwri and Marwol, two siblings who lost their own family to spiders from Mirkwood, and Swanhildr herself are among some of the few who made it all the way to Bree. Feeling responsible for the siblings - despite the eldest, Mercwri, only being a year younger than herself - she struggles to find work in Bree to give the pair a better life. [WIP]
