The Road goes on Part 3

After four years, they made preparations to head further east. Equipped with their belongings they set out with, and with the wisdom of the elves of Imladris their quest was once again continued. Yet when they walked over The Bridge of Imladris they did see a host of Eldar coming down the hill. Blue and silver was their armour, and a banner was raised above their heads.  Relalas’ father explained that those were the cousins of the house of Finwë. Then Relalas remembered the tales told in Imladris about the Noldor race, proud and so glorious! With their fierce mounts they came towards father and son and both stepped aside. From close they did see that there armour was a bit dirty, there shields where covered with grass and dark blood. It looked like they fought in some battle. The last of the host turned around and did head towards Relalas and his father. While he was holding one of the banners of Gil-Galad he told them that the south of Imladris was safe to pass through. Father and son bowed before this Noldo Lord and thanked him for his message. After he bid them goodbye with the word “Namarie”  Relalas and his father turned around and continued the fresh started journey.

After three days they reached the borders of Eregion, long fields they saw stretched out with mountains to their left, which where the Misty Mountains with Celebdil as the summit. The father of Relalas pointed near that highest peak saying”We will set out and head to that peak, for there lays a pass we shall take.” This pass is known as the Redhorn pass. It took another three days to stride across Eregion and they reached the Redhorn pass, where they made camp for the night. That night Relalas was told about the dwarfs of Khazad-dum and the relation between the elves of Eregion. With great interest he listened and dreamed away after some while. Till late in the night they spoke, before they went to sleep. The next morning they continued, and at the highest point of the pass they looked into a vale, Relalas saw a great lake, named Kheled-zaram, or in common speech “Mirrormere” beyond the lake there was a great golden-green forest. The father of Relalas spoke to his son; “We must pass through the forest of Lothlorien, then we are close where we need to be.” Both had a great smile on their faces, for journey’s end was in sight.
They continued and via Dimmril stair they left the pass between the mountains. At lake Kheled-zaram they filled there water sacks, after tasting it Relalas found out that the water was just as fresh and pure as the waters of the river Adurant. Coming closer to the forest, he noticed that the march was growing easier every step, like he was walking downhill. At the borders of the forest his father looked in his bags, searching for something it seemed. Relalas asked what he was looking for.
His father replied,” I’m looking for are safe passage token”
In reaction to this Relalas frowned his brows and made a silent step backward. His father laughed a bit and continued with the following words,” Fear not for who is welcome here, has not to worry about unfriendly creatures.”
Finally he found some sort of whistle and he blew on it, a high tune echoed after in the forest and a few moments later he saw two elven sentry’s heading towards them. “Mae govannen mellon” one of them said while looking at my father. Then he turned to Relalas while looking suspicious. The father of Relalas said ”Do not worry about him, he is me, and I am him. He has the same blood flowing through his vanes as my spouse.” Relalas bowed when he heard that.
The sentry made a big step towards him, and put his hand on his shoulder. He said, ”Do not fear us, for with your father you will stay amongst us till you are fit to go where ever your destiny lays.” So they ventured deeper inside Lothlorien.
