What an odd day it had been.
First, accompanying Furley at some meeting with some spy woman who was...unprofessional and immature, at best. She seemed to wish to do her best to mimic Dru's passive manner, yet did her best to try and antagonize her as well. Odd. Dru had done nothing to cause her to dislike her straight away like that.
But if there was anything she had learned by now, it was that some folk did not even need a reason. They simply choose it. They learned a possible location...but that was it.
Dru neither trusted this "spy", nor Wren. Ex-Watcher Wren had proved to be not unlike a younger teenage girl with her first love in sight. Dru did not need to wonder as to why Wren disliked her. Poor Furley.
He did not deserve to deal with such pathetic drama, when he was already married and already dealing with all of this...this gang intrigue.
Then Carria approached her as she was speaking (yes, speaking in a friendly manner) to Furley. She requested aid in rescuing a Halfling friend of hers. Simply on the basis that Dru seemed she could handle herself, and Carria's sister Ashwyneth, trusted her.
Unfortunately, Dru was not clear as to where they needed her, and arrived after all was done. It was interesting to learn of the young man...Sky...Sky-something's, betrayal.
Then, finally, she bumped into Davamir. Or more like, he bumped into Carria and her, and mistook Carria for her. Dru had not laughed so hard in months.
He thought himself so very smooth...yet he nearly ended up tasting Carria's elbow.
After they spoke, trading jabs and ribbings as they always did, Dav surprised her.
"If I did not have this scar...I would give you some true competition for the title of the more attractive of the two," she had said. Or something akin to those words.
He smiled and turned, saying as he left, "Even with the scar on your face, you do."
She walked past where she was staying, too deep in thought over what had transpired through the day. This time, she actually smiled slightly upon recalling the last bit.
Who knew the noble Gondorian brat had manners.
