Log 2: Entry 20

Miss Jackilyn continues to sleep. The paste that miss Cesistya gave me appears to be keeping the woman calm and able to sleep soundly. The smell of grass after the rain is what she claims to feel. I've tried to find this scent but I smell nothing. There was a scent when she handed me this paste but I can't remember what it was. It was vague, but familiar.

With all that's going on I forgot that miss Rushwood agreed to have me take a look at her leg. A five year old injury that was poorly handled, there's no wonder that the bone grew crooked and made the woman a cripple. I'll need a closer look at how the bone grew together before deciding if I can even attempt to reconstruct it. I've given her time to think it over, while I continue to focus on miss Jackilyn's health.

Thinking of something else, even for a short while, has helped my mind clear up a little. While I still don't understand what misses Denton meant, I'll be able to sit with miss Jackilyn again and tend to her. Will have to be more mindful of what I say when I do, my last attempt didn't go well.
