Patient: Human, male, middle-age
Symptoms: Bloating, excessive flatulence
Treatment: Change of diet, wormwood tea
Meeting: In a fortnight
A couple came in. The man explained that he has felt very bloated in the last two weeks. His wife, I assume, added that his flatulence has been unbearable. He denied this and the two argued a while. Until the man, involuntarily, gave an example. The stench was foul.
I questioned them about their eating habits. I learned that the two planted cabbage and have recently been able to harvest from the plot. The man grew a taste for boiled cabbage and has been a part of every meal, if not the main meal.
I have suggested that the cabbage be put aside and another vegetable chosen as a side dish. It was recommended that he drink wormwood tea to help with the bloating, he didn't seem thrilled with this idea but agreed.
They have purchased fifteen coppers' worth of the tea, should last him a fortnight. At which point I have requested for him to visit me again.
I had to air out my home after their visit. While doing so, I visited the town to finish my errands and make certain my report was handed to Constable Applewood.
During my brief stay in the town, I met another pipe-weed merchant. I learned, through my questions, that there's some clue that the pipe-weed may have some pain relief qualities to it. I have purchased three pouches of his rarer leaves, which I shall study and experiment on to see if there is any truth to this theory.
