A New Contract

I had arrived at the meeting room with a smile upon my face. I was thinking about that butter cake that Annii had sold me while I was at the bakery. I do need to remind myself to not bring Gruff in bakerys or inns. I left Gruff outside of the building, as I thought that to be wise. I entered, greeting Hellrien and the Captain. Maps were laid out upon the tables, something interesting was obviously going to be revealed today. It appears that a new contract had been made. A dwarf, that weighs 15 stones, his height is over 5 feet. Black hair and a black beard, dwarven axe, sidesword and lots of daggers. Odd, a dwarf this size. I have my doubts that it is indeed a dwarf. Apparently, he had murdered a member of the Proudfoot Family. A hobbit! He killed a hobbit! How one could pull themselves to do that is simply an atrocity. I have no regrets if I need to kill him. He is a monster that needs justice. Arindiis had made up the point that hobbits exaggerate a lot and would presume the dwarf much taller than themselves, them being small of course. So, the height isn't a definitive give-away, but still, his weapons and his hair color would be. It has been agreed that we will go to the Grassblowers camp in Evendim and ask there, they probably will have some news for us. Seeing as though it is quite far away, I won't be able to bring Gruff, I did dearly hoped that I was able to bring him, but it appears not, instead, I shall bring my father's horse. Since, traveling upon horse-back shall be the only way we could even have a chance of catching up to this dwarf. There is good pay for this contract as well, as the Proudfoots are a wealthy family, good to know. I am always in the need for more coin. Then again, everyone is these days. Seeing as though Askelin and Arin have one horse, Meeko, he needed to borrow one. It seems that we are departing to Evendim tomorrow at nine in the morning. Quite early if I say so myself, but I'm used to waking up early. Let us hope that we find this dwarf, if it is a dwarf, and put him to justice.
