Khalis sat at his desk in the Great Hall of the Warband in Imladris reading over a letter he had received from the Council. He recalled the face of Lord Elrond as he handed over the letter for him to read, it has an unusual worried look upon it.
Mylord Elrond
It is with hesitation that i must request aid and advice from you in these darkening times. I would not do so unless i considered it important for i know you have already much to contemplate of late.
Some of the older tomes in the library are growing brittle with age and as their custodians it is our duty to preserve them for those who come after us. I know your love of lore rivals my own and thus you would not wish to see those we hold fade with use and age.
These books will require to be treated with a rare elixer and our supply runs perilously low here in Imladris. I have sent a rider to the Lady of the Golden Wood to ask for her help but have heard no news back. Thus i am asking for your help in gathering some of the more rarer ingredients needed to fashion some more of this rare elixer.
The most rare of them all are the reputed gemstone shards which as i am sure you are aware are most difficult to procure and its with gathering these particular ones i am asking for your help. I require shards of various power, the more worn pages require the more empowered shards.
I would welcome any help you can give mylord.
Telaren (Keeper of Lore - Imladris)
Khalis recalled how he had read the letter for the first time in front of Lord Elrond and how they spoke about if this is a task the warband could take up. He remembered seeing the smile return once more to Lord Elronds face when he told him the warband would take up this task with fervour.
Laying the letter to one side at his desk, Khalis then took out his maps of Eregion and began to formulate a plan.
