My captain has spoken with the elf, though not the same elf mind you… and after much thinking, I have decided to take the stone. This elf was apparently sent from the previous one, whose name I finally know is Galgardor. This new one calls himself Duindos and I find him much more likeable, in all honesty. I don’t know what business Galgardor has elsewhere, but if you ask me, I’d say he’s a coward for giving me all this trouble with the stone and then suddenly vanishing without first telling me himself.
And… but it does not matter anymore. I must focus on preparing for the journey to the Barrow-downs. I would not be going if it wasn’t for Duindos actually willing to help me, unlike Galgardor. Fortunately, Calagand will be coming too. He’s someone I can actually trust.
Now, I suppose I will soon find out if the terrors I have heard about are true... I must admit that I am rather curious, and I believe we will be safe since it's the three of us. We only need to place the stone at the spire, then we'll leave.
