An important discovery

Trawling through old parchments was never a task Earinlin enjoyed but nevertheless did so out of necessity keen to learn how the Order was once organised to ever improve what has now been re-established.

Chance took it a clearly different text stood out to him, reading it, his eyes widened in surprise a portion of a diary from a former Tur. He had not met this Galendil but had heard talk of him and his disappearance. Knowing the importance of the discovery he proceeded to seek out his Tur Lord Anglachelm.

Many days later in Imladris, Earinlin found his Lord in the Halls of Fire choosing a suitable time he presented his discovery to his Tur. A look of surprise and then of urgency was upon Anglachelm, upon reading the parchment lord Anglachelm mused a moment and ask his Caun where he had made this discovery, Earinlin proceeded to explain and then waited patiently while Anglachalm began to muse again nodding and deep in thought. Lord Anglachelm then spoke quickly and with authority, giving his Caun Earinlin clear instruction to search for and find Galendil, in aid Anglachelm gave Earinlin the mandate to select two members from every order to assist in the search.

Kneeling before his Lord Earinlin received his instructions obediently and departed to make preparations.

===========Galendil's Entry================

While in Imladris,

It is now exactly 200 days since Lord Anglachelm left in search of his sister Anguirelm, and sometimes I feel as if all things sacred and dear, and all things that once looked like they were certainties, are unraveling around me. Daelith has, though not by any conscient plan of his, stabbed his father right in the heart of Imladris while I was away. Darnur, poor Darnur, lies dead and Daelith himself has run away. I have sent some of our kin out to look for him, but the trail is getting cold already, and one such as Daelith will not leave a very clear trail when he does not wish to be found. He shall not be found. What rests is to give Darnur's body a final resting place on a hillslope overlooking the Valley. He enjoyed the sight from up there, they say, but 'tis small comfort to me: his body will remain forever in Imladris while he now walks Mandos' Halls in a far away place, where never again shall he come to the aid of his kin in their hour of need!

So our ranks, as thin as they were, have been thinned even more. The Order of Hammer has lost two of its finest,and I promised Veryacano and the rest of our kin to start a campaign in our old lands of Eregion soon. It cannot be done now.

Leadership tires me. To see expectant faces of those I have known for so long now look up at me, waiting for me to give them some direction while I have no answers to give myself... The Order of Hammer will wish to strike, while others will ask for time to grieve. Some claim we must drive the bandits and orcs from our old ruins, while some say we must fight no longer and leave this Middle Earth to the Second Born. Some must doubt me and will think Anglachelm would have been able to stop Daelith in one way or another, had he been still with us. I should have been there. But how I long to be away from others, away from elves with conflicting ideas and emotions, and to be simply in the forests and fields of my youth again! I wish to visit fair Lindon and not be bothered with dying elves and angry faces from those who blame us for bringing weapons into Elrond's House!

I believe I will be required to lead this House to its end, whatever that may be, so there may never again be time to idly walk the lands of my youth. I shall do then what must be done. We shall start our campaign in Eregion with what little forces we have and no matter the cost. To sit idly by is not the fate of the House that even Morgoth himself could not bring down! Bar-en-Vanimar will return to Eregion, and we shall exact our revenge upon the servants of the Dark Tower! May Light and Music return to those lands once more, even if only for a little time.

Our best scouts are looking for Daelith now, so I shall leave for Eregion myself to assess the situation there. Maybe because I cannot stand the sight of this Valley any longer, or maybe just because there is little I can do here now. Besides, I know how to move unseen, and I should be back within a week or two. I certainly do not expect any trouble from orcs. Hopefully I shall return with a fresh mind.
