The air was crisp with the Winter air, the leaves were falling and the trees swaying. A cloaked man, cloths muddy and sword bloody, went into Chetwood to hunt for lucrative venison but as he went in further and further he was only met with swaying oak trees and the howls of wolves. His ears heard the echoing howls of wolves and roars of the brown bears nearby but as his ears was focused on them his eyes were focused on the woman, clad in Bree-lander clothing, but it was not her clothing that intrigued him for it was her blue, icy eyes that captivated him. Her face was pale, if she saw a ghost but in-fact she is a ghost or spirit, when she spoke to him he was overwhelmed with curiosity but more-so fear for her words were this, Do you remember me, husband? or have you forgotten your first love, his eyes widened as his muscles tensed up as he replied with this, No! It cannot be you, you're dead! but he did remember her. He stood there in fear of moving as his whole body was stiff as a tree. Taylor Green at the Combe Lumber Camp saw him enter but not leave, many if not all think he is dead and he's joined his wife as spirits.
One other story about spirits was one of the Bear of Combe, a spirit bear. It was a warm yet damp morning as dawn approached, one of the lumbermen entered Chetwood in hope of lucrative lumber, although he spotted many pines and oaks, but the only thing that continuously piqued his interest was of rumors and hearsay of a spirit bear for one of the other reasons he came into the forest was to look for the beast. He sauntered further and further into the woods but came to a stop when he heard feral howling of a bear, he cautiously followed the sound but came to a complete stop when he found what he was exactly looking for as it was the bear in full force. The bear roared, it's face contorted in rage , the man was terrified, he tried to move but the fear overwhelmed him but it was not the fact that he might die by a bear but it was instead that he will become a spirit alongside it. The forester never did come out but it's said that if you do wander into Chetwood alone at night then you'll fall to the bear and become a spirit.
