*A letter in Tengwar lettering*
Dear Thirenel,
I bring you good tidings friend. When last I wrote to you after the battle under the trees of Mirkwood, I suspected that Thranduil and Celeborn would divide up the forest now that the fires of Dol Guldur are utterly quenched. It seems that they have indeed done so. The forest is now called Eryn Lasgalen and Thranduil has agreed to take on the rule of the northern part of the forest whilst the southern part henceforth belongs to Lorien.
My participation in the battle, however short it was, has earned me a place amongst either peoples, though I need it not. Still, they have weighed my valour and did not find it wanting, and that is more than I could still have hoped to receive. After ages of wandering I can now seek a quiet place to settle and make my own. I must say it feels as if a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
Yet I do remember my promise to you old friend, and that is that I would join you in an expedition into Mordor where you seek something of great value. I write to you now to let you know that I have left the woods and am riding for the black gate of Sauron's fallen realm. I will meet you there within a fortnight.
Tinnurion
