5. Doors

I closed a door.
I shut it, locked it, barricaded it with planks, chain and heavy furniture. A cupboard, a drawer, a table... I put long, rusty iron spikes on the other side to discourage anyone and anything from coming through.

Then, piece by piece, I took everything away. The table is back next to the two chairs, the cupboard is against the wall, the drawer next to the bed.
I filed away chain links until the chains had come undone, then I pried away every plank with a crowbar.
Removing the spikes was not so easy. I got many scratches and cuts, and infection is now a serious risk. But I eventually made it.

Because a door is not a wall. Doors are made to be opened again, once they've been closed.
