Penned in precise and evenly lined sentences, a blank page near the middle of a slightly scuffed, top-grain leather journal is newly inscribed. If one were to flip past the filled pages to the very beginning, one would find the first page titled with: Bernie Tweed, Bree-land followed by a series of odd symbols.

Home, Bree-land.

Not enough flowering on meadow yet. Need to feed swarms. Put out wine mixed with honey in basins, top with what leaves of flowering herbs can be found so they don't drown.

Expect case of brew to arrive from Sanders. Double check contents for accuracy; usually short a cask or two.

Hives need to be swept clean of ill-placed combs soon, to prevent overcrowding.

Take stock of larders. Need butter for sure, possibly taters too.

º Fireworks festival going on in Bree. Attend at night for best view.

≡ Stopped in the Pony for drink & to enjoy service of pretty waitresses. Met the elfin lady Indoril there. Very surprised. Still standoffish, but sat with me. Bought her wine (very expensive.) Said she was on a 'mission,' whatever that is. Unfortunately some riffraff poured in and a fight broke out. Left hastily. Shame.
