Dagoras told me a strange thing the other day. As we gazed at Fornost in the early morning, he told me I am not destined to stay here and face the threat in the north. "But neither will your road be without peril", he said. When I inquired after his reasoning he told me he had an errand for me that would take me far beyond the borders of the North Downs. He would not elaborate further on the nature of this errand, but that I would travel south in two days. I dare not question Dagoras, he is a respected ranger amongst his people and he saved my life more than once. I merely wonder what "errand" he is talking about. I know him to choose his words more carefully and not to fall to such obscure descriptions, thus whatever it is, he means to keep it a secret for now.

I had another nightmare. This one more grim than the last. I keep hearing a familiar voice but know not to place it. It is cold and otherworldly, yet does not seem to mean me any harm. But then the voice is broken by a scream, so shrill a shrieking that is still resonates in my ears as I wake up. I see a dark, faceless being trying to grab me. I see a woman too, but her pale golden light fades quickly in the growing shades of the faceless being. I feel a hand reaching out for my shoulder and then I wake up. Dagoras told me he does not know whether the nightmares will ever cease to haunt me. Perhaps I will never be fully cured of whatever evil spell that black rider cast over me that night.
Nonetheless it seems like my stay here has ended. In the morrow, Dagoras is travelling with me to a hidden hideout in the Old Forest on the borders of Buckland. He says he will explain on the road. I grow tired of his secretive tongue. I will try and get to the truth of this "errand" ere we arrive at the Forest. I do not like surprises.
