Torn page, entry 5

Fitting that this should be the last page I have from Agacyra

I have arrived in Breeland and to Bree-town for that matter. Little has changed since I was here last. I still see men and women prancing around with weapons and acting as if they are in a warzone. Is it because of the Southrons that have come?
I know there is plenty of trouble that has come with them and Bill Ferny has been gathering the less fortunate to join him but he shall be stopped soon and maybe then this town will manage to find some peace again.

I am sad to say that I have arrived here alone. My companion, bless his soul, left my company not long ago with only a letter. I admit it is painful to have him gone in such a way but I must respect the call of his kin and I hold nothing against him. I wish him all the luck in the world and shall pray for his safe return.

He spoke of a friend who would join me in his place. So far I have not met anyone or had anyone approach but he knew where I was headed and perhaps I shall find this new companion on the road once I make my way.

I will resupply and fit my horse. I am sure that those at the Angle are in need of a few things, maybe I'll be lucky and find a sack of flour or two to bring. I suppose Brannon would be happy for some pipeweed and so I will make a stop at Staddle and see if the Hobbits there still have some to spare. Should bring a smile to that old man's face.

I am still uncertain what I shall tell Thorontir once I catch up. I feel as if I've failed the task I was given. I will arrive with none from the dwarven halls and so our numbers will be short still.
Hopefully he will forgive me and pray that he has had more luck than me.

I can already feel my stomach turning as I think about the battle that lies ahead. We still know so little about this enemy though perhaps the company has learned more and we shall have allies still to boost our numbers.

Valar bless us
