Chronicle Summary

This chronicle is an effort to document and bring some organization to hîril Ealendil's expedition to the bay of Belfalas, and beyond. It will evolve slowly as more drawings, and, hopefully, written accounts are gathered.

Chronicle Content

Ever since her father perished in the fateful battle of Dagorlad, Ealendil has felt a growing need to find out more about his past, before he crossed the mountains into Beleriand all those many centuries ago. This is a period in her father’s life little, if anything, was talked about. All that she know is that he, as a youth, followed, Denethor, son of Lenwë, from the mouth of the great Anduin and across the Ered Luin.

In the peaceful years following the down-fall of the Witch-king in the third age, Ealendil decides to undertake a pilgrimage to the southern lands, somehow backtracking her father’s journey, in order to piece together some form of picture.

When visiting Mithlond, searching for records of old and seeking advice in preparation of the journey, Ealendil comes in contact with one of Lord Círdan’s close advisors. Upon learning her intentions, the advisor conveys to her a concern and request from his Lord.

Lord Círdan is concerned about the safety of Mithlond as a point of embarkation for elves sailing west. At the height of the Witch-kings power, and having overrun Arthedain, the threat of that safety became a reality.

Lord Círdan seeks to find out whether the old abandoned port of Edhellond may serve as an alternative should the unthinkable happen again. Though scouts have been sent previously, few reports have returned and some are a bit lacking. Therefore it is asked of Ealendil if she could help scout the old port and report back on its condition while journeying south.
