Down the winding road...

The wind howled. As the fireplace struggled to survive in the relentless rain, they all huddled next to a somewhat less damp tree with a hot cup of tea in their hands. Now, rain is not something that worries the odd elleth or ellon. Rain can even be seen as a release, a way of comforting the fea. However, if you have paper with you, that is another matter entirely.

While Tingruviel tried to be as swift with the quill as possible, master Vagnur was cared for by Sileril and Filegris. His old bones seemed to bother him in this weather and asked for tea and a dry cloak. After a while, Tingruviel implored Sileril to seek out a book. Tingruviel had mentioned lady Danels possible interest in said tome "Of Varda's creations" which helplessly (and foolishly) had been lost in the area by a travelling scholar some months ago. Once the name had rolled off her lips, Gaerions expression had utterly changed. There was no reasoning with him however. He seemed to wish to keep the thoughts of lady Danel to himself. Tingruviel had left him be and watched a cloaked Sileril vanish over the hillside with a bag of coins attached to her hip. Once she had returned, with the tome neatly wrapped in another cloak, Tingruviel had let out a sigh of relief. She knew that Sileril was the right one for the task, yet who knew how easily the periannath would have seen through her cloaked self. The idea was to travel swiftly and only stop when necessary. While waiting for the rain to stop, with the new treasure tucked away, Tingruviel began to recount their trip on a piece of parchment.

"Dear Danel,

I write to you from beside the fireplace. All are safe, even Sorontar. We have had the fortune of making acquaintances with a few folk on our journey.

The tome I sought is safe within our reach. I hope that it will be useful to the future endeavors of the house, in particular that of Anglador. Sileril, disguised as one of the menfolk, managed to salvage it from the hands of one of the periannath, who seems to view the village as the owner of said tome. I fear that we shall have to transcribe its contents and then be prepared to return one of the books. How peculiar of these periannath. They find something on the side of the road and immediately think it is theirs.

I am proud to say that Saranasse is very much doing her best. She has proved more useful to me than I had expected. The other arrow, Filegris, seems content with helping in every which way she can. Fealivril and her found this campsite of ours, which incidentally is sometimes occupied by the Dunedain.

And master Vagnur. For a dwarf, he is quite pleasant and entertaining to have around. I fear for his health however, he is not the spring chicken anymore. He bid me to convey a message to Imladris. One of his students wishes to travel to the vale to study. I explained to him that I have no authority over the house of Elrond but that I would pass the request on to those who do. I shall ask him what the name of the student is.

That is about it. I will tell more once we reach a less damp location.

Best regards,

Tingruviel,

Ambassador"
