Daegond vs. Meluilindele

Losgaels betrothed, hir Meluilindele, had no doubt prepared for days. The advice he was given was to be as much of a cad as his opponent. "Use everything!" Elleths and ellons alike had urged him. He must have been more than frightened by the proposals to be deceitful; what manner of hir would require such forethought?

On announcing their betrothal, lord Anglachelm had proposed, nay, ordered, a duel twixt the hound and the strapping young minstrel. Everyone expected the fight to be cruel, yet swift. How swift, however... well, it was over quicker than a wink of ones eye.

"Stone! It was a stone!" a wet Daegond had exclaimed after his apparition reappeared beneath the bridge. Everyone was perplexed at such a claim, yet lord Tindir and sergeant Ancalasse proclaimed Meluilindele as the obvious winner. What followed next was a small celebration in the Hall of Fire and a near ending to the marriage that had not yet been formalised.
