Hund stood in the long green grass, that blew left and right in the warm wind that blew over the Wold that day. The green tips tickled his knees as he wandered through it. He wore no shirt, showing off his muscular torso in the afternoon sun. Cloth around his hips hung down to his knees, where his leggings met with his simple leather boots. The handsome face of the man was grinning widely, with his brown eyes scanning the horizon as his red locks were held back using a simple leather band around his forehead. His forearms were covered in simple leather bracers, which led down to his hand that held onto the rough wooden shaft of a spear for protection. He stood atop a small hill, as he waited.. and waited.. and waited until they came..
First hooves beating into the earth was all that could be heard, before from over the hill came small sea of wild horses, all in different colours. Some the colour of soot, some the colour of snow. Mud, and barley, all were there. Their manes blew in the wind, as they let out whinnys and neighs as they came to a stop in their grazing grounds. Small foals, with wobbly legs frolicked along beside their mothers as they explored the fields.
Up Langhund stood, as throwing his spear to the side and confidently walking down towards them with a handful of grass in his hand. His eyes focused on a brown horse -with a black mane and white socks-, who was standing away from the group as headings towards a small pond. With his tanned hand outstretched, he offered out the grass to the muzzle of the horse, which took it between his lips and started to chew. His nose nudged into the hand again, as asking for more grass.
"Woah now, wild-one. You can have more grass and better.. if you become mine..", he nodded as he went to walk to the side of the horse as patting its neck gently. He then went to climb upon the back of the beast, before it raised up on its forelegs and bucked the man off into the grass with a grunt. "Urrggh... another try...".
And so, the afternoon passed by, and evening had come. Langhund continued with his attempts, and by the end of the evening things had started to pay off. He could now sit on the horse, and some rope he had brought along with him helped him take the horse to town. In his own small stable, with no others around, Hund and the horse spent the whole night awake as they tried to gain each others trust.. though there was a lot of work to be done..
