It is always wise to keep some allies amongst the patrons so you can keep getting information about places you rather not go yourself unless needed.
Ruby is a perfect informant for Atharan. She is quick with he wits and knows how to get what she needs from more simple minded men. She might even provide a nice challenge of wits for Atharan himself.
