Captain's Quick Report: Opening of the Bramblebury Crafting Centre and Library

Time is so short, especially of late for this ol' Bree Captain... busy enough in fact that I sadly missed the performance of the Polnolunie in Bree-town... I've been reassured however that they will likely schedule future concerts soon for other seasonal periods throughout the year, and there is a fairly updated posting on a bulletin board around Bree-town that seems to track their upcoming events and bookings.  In fact, another reliable source apparently tells of a quality moving drawing already published from an artist who was present for the concert!  One can almost hear the music once again as if played live, I'm told -- such powerful drawings!

It was a very swift journey towards the Shire right after... to attempt attendance at what I've heard was a fantastic tour of the new facilities being opened in Bramblebury's homesteads.  A wide open space atop a hill with plenty of facilities for crafts-folk to do their work amongst the Bramblebury community greeted my eyes, complete with an outdoor-built forge, an area for farmland crops, cooking, and blacksmithing too!  There was a most fascinating 'Gondorian Supplier Horn' as well that intrigued me... every time I blew on it, a lovely maiden lass appeared!  Often different hats and dresses though did she wear... Master Ponso says she and others are some of the folk who visits to trade supplies and helpful items when their travelling caravan pass through the community from time to time.

My presence was quite late into the activities from my guess; it seemed the main tour had already concluded and the attendees were going to now continue celebrations of this new crafting centre and library facility by participating in the... exploration... of a mysterious hole in the ground.  Others seemed to eye it with the perspective of it being a treacherous hole... but it was either way quite a sight when nearly all the guests, Hobbits one and all; leapt down into the hole and disappeared!  At least, for quite some time.  It was a race to return back to the Centre from my observations; and one by one, two by twos, did many of the attendees return -- many huffing, others walking briskly but still with breath!

It was quite a sight I tell you, and no doubt quite an adventure for some of those Hobbits; some claim they were sent as far away as the Trollshaws or Ered Luin!

A Master Penthadryn was then introduced, a tall fellow whom was remarked by Miss Lina as 'looks like a wizzer!' -- he apparently was the original owner of the library and crafting centre, but has often delegated the caretaking to Master Ponso; and from my guesses, the arrangements were finally made to open this space to the entire Bramblebury village for public use and visits!  It has also been said that other Shire communities nowadays also have their own similar facilities for local residents to enjoy the use of as well; Songburrow Hall in the Shire village of  Songburrow is one such example I've heard about in passing rumours these last months.

It seems most of the event was over then, and folk took their leave shortly afterwards with friendly goodbyes and farewells as Hobbit-folk often do; some even walking over to that mysterious hole in the ground and leaping in to make their departure!

I was lucky to stay long enough to overhear another tour was being offered to a Hobbit named Miss Apri, and Master Ponso kindly extended that welcome to myself as well -- and what an excellent tour it was!  From one room to another were many various displays, exibits, and public areas explained; a table that was turned into a dancing one just earlier by the main attendees to the opening celebrations (though how it held the weight of at least over a dozen Hobbit-folk still boggles the mind!); seemingly ancient pottery to carefully be dusted, and even a very formidable-looking set of armour which Master Ponso described as requiring 'taking ages to get off again!'.

Time was pressing onwards as later Master Fidget rejoined the small company and after a table of food (or what remained until Master Ponso pointed out the extras tucked away), the group of Hobbits proceeded to renact a merry dancing upon the same table mentioned previously as having played host to the larger audience earlier on during the grand opening.

It was at this point I bid my farewells, and sped quickly for the Bree-land again -- there was a wedding between an Exiled Lord and Rohirric Lady that I was to make an important delivery for, on behalf of the Bree Captain's Guild!

An excellent community though did Bramblebury seem to be; not only known as home to the Bramblebury Gazette newspaper, and many other notable Shire Hobbits, but with any luck, a fine destination for crafting and library facilities for local residents or passing travellers, I imagine!  A most esteemed congratulations to Bramblebury Village!

P.S.
The 'February OAKS.....This time the talent is home grown!' is now next on the horizon from what I know, followed later in the week by 'The White Flames play music from Laterna Magica'; all to begin soon within the next few days!  And as Master Ponso reminded me before leaving, Hobbits in the Shire will be gathering for a fishing Salmon Run I presume sometime on the Fifth of next Month.

(( Disclaimer: Hello folks, I'd like to caution you that taking a look at the embedded slideshows coming up below will likely not go too well if your in a hurry, and hoping to just get a 'general gander' at what the event was like.  The 'Overview Collection' above is more suited for that!

Viewing the albums embedded below is more geared for those folks looking to get a /slightly/ more play-by-play spirit of how things unfolded.  In fact, I only recommend having a browse through if for some reason, you have an urge to well... just look at a lot and lot of screenshots -- many of the shot angles/perspectives being repeated in other screenshots but at different times during the event, etc!  Thanks for reading. ))
