Background
History
To understand the nature and purpose of the Order of the Blue Dawn, one must first understand the origins of the Easterlings, those men who have dwelt in the lands of Rhûn and the Orocarni Mountains for many long ages under the Sun.
In the earlier days of Middle-earth when the would was younger, the first men and women awoke in the far east in the land of Hildórien. A great darkness was over Middle-earth in those days, and men grew to fear it. In their minds they heard a Voice, urging them to make speech and grow wise, and they listened. After a time, men were visited by a being of great beauty and power, the Giver of Gifts, who offered to make men alike to himself. Men began to follow his teachings, and the Given warned them of the lies of the Voice, saying that it was of the Dark they feared. At the Giver's behest, mankind rejected the Voice and turned instead to the teachings of the Giver.
When mankind had become strong, the Giver commanded that they should construct a dwelling for him, which they named the House of the Lord. Though some still heard the Voice in those days and wished to obey it, upon the completion of the House all mankind swore their allegiance to the Giver of Gifts, thus sealing their fate for the rest of their days. Those loyal to the Voice were too few to stand against the servants of the Giver, and so they fled into the western lands. These who fled would become the native inhabitants of Middle-earth as well as the Edain, the forefathers of the men of Westernesse. In later years, many would realize that the Voice was that of Eru, the Father of All beyond the confines of Eä, and the Giver of Gifts was in fact the great Enemy of the world, Morgoth, who had sought to corrupt mankind for his own purposes. Thus the Men of the East were thereafter in servitude to the Enemy, and after Morgoth's defeat at the end of the First Age they would turn to his servant Sauron.
Though the East was since the beginning a land under the Enemy's influence, there were always men and women who wished to oppose their master but had not the strength to do so. Seeing their plight, the Valar sent forth two Maiar in around the year 1600 of the Second Age tasked with circumventing Sauron's influence in the eastern lands. These were Morinehtar and Rómestámo, the Blue Wizards. Through their deeds, the Easterlings who rejected the will of Sauron were rallied together in opposition of the Enemy, and through this unity the might of the Enemy in the east was greatly diminished. It is out of this group of Easterlings that the Blue Caste would emerge, servants of the Blue Wizards with great skill in magic, though some in the Blue Caste would turn away from their brothers and sisters in favor of servitude to Mordor.
Origin
Long after the formation of the Blue Caste, the Blue Wizards began to worry for the fate of Eriador and the growing threat of Angmar. Choosing their finest disciples, Morinehtar and Rómestámo formed a new union within the Blue Caste in the year 3016 of the Third Age tasked with traveling westward into Eriador to carry out whatever deeds they felt necessary for circumventing the Enemy in the northwest since they themselves were busy maintaining their influence against the servants of Sauron in Rhûn and beyond. The leader appointed by the Blue Wizards for this union, the Order of the Blue Dawn, is Rashul Muhedri, a man of great skill in magic and sorcery.
[OOC]
The Order of the Blue Dawn is an Easterling-based kinship focused on RP in Eriador and beyond. Easterling characters are sought, but non-Easterling characters may be welcomed as well depending on the circumstances.
