Captain's Quick Report: January OAKS with Baertigen Musen

The first Oldfurlong Amazing Koncert Series (OAKS) of this new year!  What a privilege it was to be among those in Oldfurlong just hours ago... where music by the Baertigen Musen, or 'Bearded Muses' as named by more local residents, brought to the audience a selection of melodies and songs that were quite stirring -- something I would describe as adventurously uplifting, and with a spirit as if you were being accompanied by mostly merry travelling tunes fit for the open road... though perhaps that is just this old Bree Captain's view.  But upon that note, I did observe one of Master Zedrock's wonderful artists whom has also been attending OAKS concerts and Yard Parties the last year, also present today.  Perhaps there might be those enthralling moving drawing collections to be published later, and you might see (and even hear in your mind) for yourself what sort of music the band shared so wonderfully with those attending today's OAKS!

Hearty songs one and all though, did these Dwarven ladies perform -- with fancy dresses, even drinking upon the stage between songs, and quite the dancing themselves with some of the singing they did.  This OAKS and the band even seemed to have drawn forth quite a few Dwarves in the crowd too... there was a good group of them upon the front row for a time, it was a cheering sight to see!

To make the journey here to Oldfurlong for the first OAKS event of the year, once again organized by the Miss Acorne of Oldfurlong residence herself -- has been worth the travels; as it has always been when circumstances align to allow brief visits into the Shire, on behalf of the Bree Captain's Guild far back in Bree-land.

With familiar friends and faces from past events, previous bands, performances, and other gatherings -- the audience in Oldfurlong just hours ago was of a community together celebrating music often throughout the Shire, and beyond.  They have begun the new year with a wonderful OAKS, and set forth with today's Baertigen Musen an excellent atmosphere to draw travellers near and far back again soon.

Congratulations to the band Baertigen Musen!  And to Miss Acorne for a most wonderful event with a large attendance from many folks, organizations, and even previous bands you have touched hearts with in the past -- to bring so many together into Oldfurlong to begin the first OAKS of the new year, an outstanding time!

Until next time, Master Reader.  Hohoho!

P.S.

My schedule appears to be in the reworks again, as recent news of the wonderful White Flames to perform in Bree soon also happens to coincide with an intriguing Shire Wassail to take place, both on the same day.  I have yet to hear back from the Bree Captain's Guild on my next destination of business, but continue riding back towards the Bree-land shall I go.  My hunch is most likely the White Flames and their 'Knuffelrock' music is where this ol' Bree Captain will end up -- though what a chance to study again the traditions of Hobbits blessing their crops and farms for a good harvest that I will be missing!

(( Disclaimer: Hello folks, I'd like to caution you that taking a look at the embedded slideshows coming up below will likely not go too well if your in a hurry, and hoping to just get a 'general gander' at what the event was like.  The 'Overview Collection' above is more suited for that!

Viewing the albums embedded below is more geared for those folks looking to get a /slightly/ more play-by-play spirit of how things unfolded.  In fact, I only recommend having a browse through if for some reason, you have an urge to well... just look at a lot and lot of screenshots -- many
more of the shot angles/perspectives being repeated in other screenshots but at different times during the event, etc!  Thanks for reading. ))
