Captain's Quick Report: The Shire Tramps at the Yard Party

Ah!  The season of Yule has already begun in many lands across Middle-earth, and the coming year's end is also finely celebrated in places far and wide -- including the year's final Yard Party at the Bird and Baby Inn, in the fine town of Michel Delving, where a gathering of Hobbits, an Elf or two, and a few distant travellers from the race of Men enjoyed the musical melodies of Shire Tramps!

And what better way to celebrate an occasion as this than amongst such humble hearts and modest audience which did gather in front of the Bird and Baby?  To the odd traveller whom makes the rare journey from afar, and has the kindest of joys to see friendly and familiar faces, gathered for a day of music with a humble but brilliant band of two Hobbits -- there is naught to do but cherish the moment and enjoy the opportunity given to attend!

The Shire Tramps are composed of two Hobbits -- Miss Tulpau and Master Miamo -- whom performed a selection of songs that were often gentle but homely in feeling; some were sorrowful if memory serves me right -- a slow pace of dancing to accompany the notes, or swaying if you like.  Others were of a warmthful and lively stepping tune, one not far removed at all from much of the popular ways of Hobbits; songs of a very welcoming feeling which could perhaps persuade even dwellers amongst mighty cities of stone; of the joys of life in countryside residence of peaceful nature, rolling hills and clouds floating idly by.

And all this from the Shire Tramps, Master Miamo and Miss Tulpau respectively!  Well, together with the participation of the audience too -- whom no doubt added much to the cheerful atmosphere of the Yard Party as has always been observed from the delightful occasions that I have been able to make in attendance these wonderful gatherings organized by Miss Bilbeto, with help from Miss Toadflax as well and others I'm sure.  There was even the honor of seeing two members of the Twilburrs happen by the music and dancing for each a good period of time -- though there was no sign of dear friend Master Silon unfortunately.

For this year's final Bird and Baby Yard Party, until the next coming Year arrives to reopen the tradition of Yard Parties for a fresh year's line-up -- this ol' Bree Captain is happy to congratulate the organizers for an outstanding tradition and open invitation for local residents and visiting travellers to gather in Michel Delving, so often each month, for those rare treats of musical bands, performances, and lively atmosphere of great friendly warmth and dancing, and of Mystery Food too!

Well done to one and all -- and as the coming Yule festivities now begin in earnest to touch many hearts and souls across Middle-earth -- may ye also enjoy great company and further joy and celebration with your friends and family at other remaining events to still take place before the year is out.  From the White Flames performance in just a few day's time at the Bree-land Festival Grounds (the newly built stage there this year), to the famed Hobbit Heart and their Yule Performance which will take to the Brockenborings for it's reveal, to the Brandy Badgers of the Grand Order of the Lost Mathom visiting the streets of Winterhome once more with songs and cheer.  And of course the last festive event I have so far known to be planned before this year is over will be the OAKS (Oldfurlong Amazing Koncert Series) once more in the village of Oldfurlong, south of the Shire -- where Miss Acorne has arranged for the same band which performed as one of many at this year's Archet Aid, the popular 'A Rock and a Hard Place', to play their music just a few days before the year's final ending.

An outstanding time is upon us, the chance to celebrate amongst Free Peoples all across Middle-earth in warmthful cheer and festive gatherings across the land.  Here is to a merry Yule as we embark through these next few weeks to come, Master Reader!  Be sure to check sources for news such as noticeboards listing events in your nearest town, or papers such as the Bramblebury Gazette if available near your residence.  Perhaps even a rare Tablet of Khazadgund if you happen into a traveller with possession of one by chance!

Signed,

Representative of the Bree Captain's Guild
Officer of the Sworn Wanderers

P.S.
Weeks ago there was rumoured to be held a Great Elven Ball in lands far away, known only in common tongue as the fabled Rivendell. And in even more distant places about Middle-earth, there are tales told of Hobbits sketching out Yule drawings.  If you seek out a Miss Amorey, you may find some wonderful paintings and drawings by her hand that depict these fantastic and rare occasions -- majestic Elves dancing, Hobbits and Dwarves at Thorin's Hall!  Gossip even goes that Hobbits were as far north as Forochel!
