Captain's Quick Report: OAKS with the Fraggles
I write this upon the road just mere hours after the conclusion of an outstanding OAKS by Miss Acorne and the invited band of musicians this month, The Fraggles. Time is short, and by the likely moment this report arrives at the Archives complete with the packaged collection of drawings and sketches; I will most likely have already begun attending to urgent business that will see me out of contact for a good two weeks, far away and possibly even beyond the reach of letters!
And so with some sadness, it has been my priority to fill the last few days that I can with as much joy and celebratory events to attend as befitting my ol' badge as a travelling representative of the Bree Captain's Guild. With great joy was I at least able to make it for today's OAKS in Oldfurlong. However, I am still slightly befuddled by the mysterious circumstances which caused me to miss the promising Yard Party in Michel Delving with the Crazy Ladies of the Forest band; it was the strangest of dreams that I couldn't awake from... unintelligible nonsense that seemed to go along the lines of something like 'Failed to Queue for Server 0x80004005'. Pure gibberish! But it succeeded in having me miss what must have been a wonderful celebration a few days ago when the Yard Party was held and those Crazy Ladies of the Forest did play at the Bird and Baby Inn.
Though lacking in one of two events I had planned to attend before my coming departure, the concert in Oldfurlong today was of a quality and cheer that should well tide me over for the coming two weeks I will be out of reach. Amongst the verdant backdrop of the neighbourhood's town center, the musicians from The Fraggles plyed their instruments with such success as any other OAKS concert... that it was once more a crowd of lively dancers; feets and boots tapping to melody, shouts and cheers from the audience towards the fantastic songs, and merry greetings with warm farewells as folk arrived and went after spending some time enjoying the musical celebration today.
From what felt like dawn to dusk, then dawn again and more; it was a near unstoppable party that those dear Hobbits are so famous for within the Shire -- complete with fireworks, pipeweed, and more!
It will be a less brightly-filled two weeks to come as I move to handle urgent business elsewhere that will see me so far beyond that many outstanding events shall I be missing during the days to come... the Maidens of Vanimor Play The Bird and Baby Yard Party this coming week is one such example, not to mention the Maidens return to play at Celondim the next week after... of course there is the famous Harnkegger Games IV taking place too, and the renowned Bards Day Concert sometime in the same week. Finally, I will also be missing the next month's OAKS with die Bunten Voegel, and also the growing rumours of Hobbits from the Shire beginning their journey on a historical trip to Enedwaith.
But some tasks must be done, and though my heart will be heavy in not being able to attend many of these coming events, it is still with joyful soul and grateful spirit that as a Bree Captain of the ol' Bree Captain's Guild, my time tonight with the OAKS; and listening, dancing, and celebrating outstanding music with The Fraggles -- fills my heart with good strength, and a steadfast determination to accomplish the business I must attend to for the next two weeks far away; if only at least to return as quickly as possible to resume attending and visiting the many joyful events and activities of our beloved lands of Middle-earth.
Congratulations to Miss Acorne for another outstanding OAKS! And to The Fraggles for the most appealing hats upon their head, and of course a phenomenal experience with your music that lives up to the Oldfurlong Amazing Koncert Series name -- and earns (or keeps) it's cheered place among all the bands and musicians that have ever performed in years past at the OAKS.
Well done, and see you again soon, hohoho!

Captain Naismithea Willarc

Scribe's Note/Addendum: For your possible convenience, Master Reader, we have copied a recent and upcoming list of events from one of Captain Naismithea's previous reports below, in the belief he would approve of having one last reminder before his temporary departure for two weeks, to those reading his works early enough to have the chance to be informed of the activities and celebrations forthcoming; that have been widely advertised for all races of the Free Peoples to attend if they so wish. We have taken the liberty to slightly update the list appropriately before adding this entry to the Archives:

"Given how many wondrous events and things are arriving ever closer and all in such short time from one another, here is -- Master Reader -- a special, rough listing of events I have come to know of so far that will almost all be mostly welcome or open to races of any persuasion, and that while I will be missing nearly half of these listed; I quite jovially urge you to consider arranging travels and joy in attending any number of these festivities and celebrations yourself, and with friends in good heart!"
