Captain's Quick Report: The Maidens of Vanimor return to Laurelin
Amongst the atmosphere of musical melodies at concerts by the Maidens of Vanimor, you will find great welcoming warmth from the Elven maidens themselves, and a friendly spirit between the audience and the performing musicians is then established; to set the stage further for a most friendly event and joyous occasion, to dance and enjoy the most mysterious tunes these Maidens often bring forth to your ears. Melodies, and lyrics which perhaps are not common to hear anywhere else throughout Middle-earth except here; upon these special concerts here in the open area just slightly south and up the hill from Celondim's docks -- held every two weeks when the Maidens of Vanimor arrange their visits to our lands to play.
Filled with shouts of strange words by both musicians and audience alike, there was an interesting collection of tunes and songs these Maidens played today, as always it almost sounded familiar, yet having never heard of the songs in this world before, I could not place my finger upon it! It seems many others in the audience today recognized it quite quickly though, and lively comments did abound confirming so!
Such a shame the next few weeks will not have my schedule available to attend any further concerts by the Maidens for some time.... or any other major events happening throughout Middle-earth -- and in coming great numbers too! For though the Maidens should be returning in two weeks from today for another planned concert in Celondim, they also have been scheduled to play next week at the Yard Party in Michel Delving! And then there is the fabled and famous Harnkegger Games IV with many prizes (and pies!) to be won running during the first week of the next Month ((August 31st to September 6th!) -- complete with races and even fishing for all whom wish to participate or watch. And blast it all, even more events I shall be missing are those such as the great Bards Day Concert over in the Shire ((September 2nd!)), the next month's OAKS concert ((September 7th)), and even the mysterious rumours of the opening journeys by a group of Hobbits embarking on a historical trip from the Shire to Enedwaith.
Two weeks have passed since the last event I have had the privilege to attend, on behalf as a travelling representative of the Bree Captain's Guild, and 'tis no surprise that today's return to Celondim to listen to the Maidens of Vanimor play once more has rekindled my joy, and set alight higher my coming anticipation for the remaining celebratory events I have been able fit into the ol' Captain's schedule the next few days, before I travel out of contact for several weeks to handle important affairs elsewhere. The remaining activities I look forward to attending before my temporary departure are to be tomorrow's ((August 19th)) Yard Party with the band Crazy Ladies of the Forest, where folk of all heights and cultures from the Free Peoples are welcome at special occasions when advertised by the Yard Party organizers of the Bird and Baby Inn. And then finally the day before I leave to be out-of-contact for several weeks, there is this month's OAKS with the Fraggles band ((August 22nd!)) over in the village of Oldfurlong!
What a coming few days of busy travelling between the Shire Homesteads and Michel Delving await for me; and for the rest of Middle-earth, many more coming celebrations, events, and outstanding adventures are coming closer and to be had in the coming weeks during the time I'll be away and far beyond reach! Lucky folks I say, hohoho!
