Captain's Quick Report: Opening of the Golden Goat
Master Eordion's opening of the Golden Goat could well be considered a success this day, for many turned out in attendance, and perhaps without knowing, demonstrated with uncanny accuracy that spirit and swirling mystery that surrounds the, interesting, social policies and manner of conduct those of my race tend to show.
There were Dwarves, and even Elves whom made the journey too -- though not as many as those of the race of Man seemed to number largely of. But welcoming was the food, and eager was the drinks to be sold for silver! Throughout the hours of this grand opening, there was also that tendency of Man to break into groups of smaller numbers; and to converse among themselves in almost.. a political, plotting dance of sorts of verbal wit, and social cues of the physical body, to see whom picks up on what signs, and might read between the lines to gain approval of one group or another, or perhaps to prove to others some sort of point of power and strength of character. If ever such an example of how the race of Man, amongst their own kind in good number, is desired to be observed of their behavior in social gatherings and events, this was surely one of telling quality.
But for this old Bree Captain, it was quite enjoyable to taste the food, courtesy of 'Sophie's Catering Company', as Master Eordion confirmed with me later -- and the performance by that acting troupe, 'Nomads Miraculous' was also of most interesting a performance to have seen. With a great emphasis on the holding back of applause until the end, or any sort of similar movement or interrupting noise that might disrupt the flow of the show -- we did see a play of sorts be told -- with the actors shouting across the stage in the front yard of the Golden Goat, and dramatic gestures and movements that portrayed to us the story and tale being shared.
With a few breaks to enjoy the overlooking view the Golden Goat had gained from it's sited location at 9 Chestnut Street in Uxcrest, and then a brief introduction to Master Eordion himself, the owner and founder of the Golden Goat tavern -- there came a moment of observation in how many patrons and attendees to the event had been enjoying themselves, or at least passing the time since the moment I had first arrived. This manner and atmosphere which was about the air, amongst the conversation between both men and women, actors and brigand-like looking individuals, dressed ladies (and males), to honest-looking adventurers of both genders -- this was a setting where those of Man celebrated in a social way to do with the manuevering politics of relationships that seems to so naturally arise when amongst each other in great number. Perhaps this seems to have caught my attention only because of having been away from Bree so often and amongst the Shire and Hobbits instead, so frequently this year!
For unlike Hobbits, whom too are often witty with words, but also quick to move on from dark thoughts, and not dwell too long upon it; and unlike Dwarves whom no doubt love a good tavern and ale, but care not as much as Men for stepping delicately through conversations for the sake of reputation; and unlike Elves whom perhaps indeed are graceful and delicate in conversation, but not so concerned with politicking relationships through such medium.... for unlike these other races, it is perhaps the race of Man that has thus far evolved over generations to become greatly active in these things that other cultures of the Free Peoples are not in numbered majority amongst their kind... and perhaps then -- this could be one thing that makes the race of Man appear as we are, within this day and Age.
Hoho, but I'm forgetting about the sketchings and colorings which need to be organized and then submitted with this early report! Though many folk were still left amongst the outside of the Golden Goat by the time I departed a few hours ago, it has been too long already since I started writing this for the Archives. Best get to work!
A hearty congratulations once again to Master Eordion and what surely is, and has been, an outstanding and suitable reception for the grand opening of the Golden Goat tavern, in the settlement of Uxcrest. As the Prancing Pony does for Bree-town, you have no doubt today provided another opportunity for a gathering of the race of Man to socialize and convene in good number, in the way that we tend to do when together of our kind.

(( Disclaimer: Hello folks, I'd like to caution you that taking a look at the embedded slideshow coming up below will likely not go too well if your in a hurry, and hoping to just get a 'general gander' at what the event was like. The 'Overview Collection' above is more suited for that!
Viewing the albums embedded below is more geared for those folks looking to get a /slightly/ more play-by-play spirit of how things unfolded. In fact, I only recommend having a browse through if for some reason, you have an urge to well... just look at a lot and lot of screenshots -- many of the shot angles/perspectives being repeated in other screenshots but at different times during the event, etc! Thanks for reading! ))
