Captain's Quick Report: July OAKS will be HOT!

How wonderful that music can lift the spirit, and spur on fair rest for the heart, and joyous invigoration of hope and celebration for those of us amongst the Free Peoples, and not lacking in any small amount for this old Bree Captain either!  When the tasks of being upon the road as a Sworn Wanderer, travelling about the land while also accomplishing tasks on behalf of my badge of the ol' Bree Captain's Guild, all become exhausting and in need of a rested break -- then it surely is no surprise that a day of musical cheer in the far lands of a Southfarthing village, the OAKS concerts in Oldfurlong has continued to be such inspiration to attend.

There was sadly no sign of Master Silon today, though Miss Toadflax was there at least, amongst many other familiar folk of the halflings, the former two both whom are responsible for greatly welcoming this old Bree Captain into the first events amongst the Shire that I dared attend so many months ago, and then onwards to informing me of even more other musical opportunities of cheer across the land -- eventually responsible for me learning of the Maidens of Vanimor concerts in Celondim every fortnight (of which the next one is scheduled a week from now, on the 5th of the next Month!), and later on of the OAKS concerts in Oldfurlong, and my becoming a regular visitor here every month from Bree-land, just for these eventful celebrations by the OAKS organizers, chiefly led by Miss Acorne from what this Bree Captain can tell!  It shall always be a blessing to see old friends again.

And of familiar faces, it was to my gladdened heart to see that news of the OAKS did reach a few other of my kind, those of the race of Man, particularly that of a Master Balfrith, whom did also show in attendance to today's musical concert in Oldfurlong.  Besides the Elves within the band, there were also several others amongst the audience quite early on and towards the midway, and there was even a Dwarf I'm quite sure my Bree Captain's eyes did see!

Hoho, but enough writing and chatter for this Quick Report for the Archives, of the Grey Repository -- the music, as some Hobbits might say, was most grand, and should you obtain, Master Reader, a current copy of that Bramblebury Gazette publication, always look fast for any postings of upcoming musical concerts pertaining to that of the OAKS, the Oldfurlong Amazing Koncert Series.  You may have yet a wonderful time here amongst good folk, welcoming Hobbits and friends of all heightly persuasions, on every rare day of each new month that these OAKS take place for all across Middle-earth to enjoy if they might make the journey here.

Signed,

Captain Naismithea Willarc

Watcher of Roads
Representative of the Bree Captain's Guild
Officer of the Sworn Wanderers

P.S.
The celebrations of Summer have now well begun across the land, (( July 22nd - August 5th is the Summer Festival in LOTRO! )) and still confirmed is the 'Summer Tales In The Shire' taking place on the First day of the next coming month.

Additional word has arisen that a grand opening of a newly built tavern, the Golden Goat, over within the settlement of Uxcrest southwards in Bree-land, will take place on the Second day of the next month -- with posters describing a 'Sophie's Catering Company', whom I earlier noticed in other advertisements with keen interest a few weeks ago, that will be providing a tasty meal at this opening celebration.  Also mentioned for musical entertainment was a 'Nomads Miraculous' group, which I do look forward to seeing for the first time, if my luck with travelling Bree Captain's business and scheduling works out true!

And then of course, there is the next week's musical celebration in Celondim to look forward to as well, with the Elven 'Maidens of Vanimor' returning to play at that beautiful spot just south and up the road from the docks of Celondim, amidst a beautiful stage area of sorts, open to the outdoors and lovely foliage of the local setting.

(( Also, for those of you who have been trying to follow news about the server closures/transfers because it may affect some of your characters on other servers in LOTRO, there was a fairly crucial update/dev diary posted concerning the coming Server Transfer features and the forthcoming closing of several LOTRO servers.  You can read about it (here), or directly go to (here).  Thanks to Lina for happening to post a link in one of her recent tweets yesterday, which perked my interest and led me to finding out these newly posted details of the coming server closings/transfers! ))

Overview Collection

(( Disclaimer: Hello folks, I'd like to caution you that taking a look at the picture slideshow coming up below will likely not go too well if your in a hurry, and hoping to just get a 'general gander' at what the event was like.  The 'Overview Collection' above is more suited for that!

Viewing the albums embedded below is more geared for those folks looking to get a /slightly/ more play-by-play spirit of how things unfolded.  In fact, I only recommend having a browse through if for some reason, you have an urge to well... just look at a lot and lot of screenshots -- many of the shot angles/perspectives being repeated in other screenshots but at different times during the event, etc!  Thanks for reading. ))
