Captain's Quick Report: the June OAKS, first of a new series!
Outstanding times amongst the Shire-folk and their music, their concerts, and good cheer of warmest hearts and smiles, and dancing too! Through what must have been night and day, today's concert event in the village of Oldfurlong, south within one of the many Shire Homesteads, was as amazing and splendid as Miss Acorne's posted article in the Bramblebury Gazette newspaper made it out to be!
It was phenomenal, as each has always been, yet still unique with special flair to grant each event it's own personality, atmosphere of joy and celebrating, with dancing and music! And thus far, there has often been lovely refreshments of food and drink provided by others helping alongside Miss Acorne at these events too!
But alas, there is only so much words can tell you, especially ones written by hand -- no amount of my doing can ever convey the right justice and deserving truth of the music and atmosphere of these OAKS concerts, not through mere words or even sketches! Someday, if you haven't already, dear Reader, you must simply make the time to journey from far or near to attend one of these concerts in Oldfurlong -- they are open to folk of all heights, bearded or long-eared origin, just be of good heart and stout cheer to add to a most friendly and celebratory gathering, and you will be welcome!
Many songs were played today, many of a nature that made one want to snap their fingers, sway their hips, tap a lively jig, or even, aye, bounce and jump all over; under, around, and about your fellow audience members! That's right, dear Reader -- from what these ol' Bree Captain's eyes could tell, the Mondbarden band did play even a stirring tune that set the crowd a-jumping and hopping all about -- a rare sight I've only seen at a few Hobbit-organized occasions, but is apparently quite the norm upon the regular Green Dragon Fridays hobbit gatherings every week!
And the gathering today... what a number from all places, of different sorts and folk, of kins and families! I would dare say the sketches I shall include below might grant you an idea of just the diverse but celebratory cheer and crowd that was today -- but it just simply isn't the same unless you were there yourself; dancing to the music, hearing the melodies and being amongst the audience yourselves in person!
To all those of the OAKS, to Miss Acorne and her wonderful helpers... and of course to the outstanding Mondbarden band, well done! Well done and simply outstanding joy today!

P.S.
With the OAKS event passed, upon the horizon I've heard further news that a joint venture between the Shire Angling Club and the Townsfolk of Northcotton are planning a stunning fishing trip to the scenery and backdrop of the Northcotton Farms, neighbours close to the village of Oatbarton on the borders between the Shire and Evendim. Alongside the Mayor of Northcotton - Deputy Mayor Breona, the Club President of the Shire Angling Club - Master Ponso and also Master Silon, will be present on the day to help organize the event further. And then there is the confirmation of 'Dance Lessons at Woodhall', another event by the famous Hobbit, Master Simbo, to take place within a week after. No doubt as this Month comes to an end, more summer-like occasions and gatherings will be had amongst the Free Peoples.
Overview Collection
(( Disclaimer: Hello folks, I'd like to caution you that taking a look at the picture slideshows coming up below will likely not go too well if your in a hurry, and hoping to just get a 'general gander' at what the event was like. The 'Overview Collection' above is more suited for that.
Viewing the albums embedded below is more geared for those folks looking to get a /slightly/ more play-by-play spirit of how things unfolded from song to song, as folks came and went from the audience at different times, and so on. In fact, I only recommend having a browse through if for some reason, you have an urge to well... just look at a lot and lot of screenshots -- many of the shot angles/perspectives being repeated in other screenshots but at different times during the event, etc! Thanks for reading. ))
