One found this old journal amidst the wares of a travelling merchant, who he came across as he was exploring the vast hall of Thorin. This is a truly remarkable place, this one is still amazed by the sight of these grand halls. If you had asked him ten summers back, if he thought he would ever see such an amazing work of architecture, one would've laughed in your face, and told you to quit drinking.. So much has happened within these last few winters, that one cannot fully comprehend it all. This one hopes we travel as far east as possible, one still wishes to search for his kin. It has been a long five summers since his own kin left him, to travel south to aid the other Rangers in quelling the surge of orcs. One was told they would return soon, but.. Still, to this day, he has heard nothing from any of them. He has to convince himself that he did the right thing, every day, to abandon the Lossoth and head south to search for them.. This one does not like to keep his ulterior motives away from the men who have shown him such kindness, but, one shall keep them secret, at least for the time being.
These 'Fateless Wanderers' seem like a very trustworthy folk.. A band of warriors, doing their duty to their lands, fighting off whatever evil may come their way. One was shown great kindness by an Eldar here, the very first Eldar he has ever seen with his own eyes, Aeirillen. He was given her spare room, and she showed him to the leader of her company, Fiontann. This one can tell there is a lot to her past.. He made her a promise that he would see her to the west, and make sure she lived the life she wanted to, unplagued by the eternal years to come. One does feel sadness for her fate, and will do what he can to ensure that she is looked after, he does not wish her to suffer the fate he has seen before.. This Fiontann seems like a noble one, a fitting leader that this one will be able to follow. One seems to be able to relax in the company of these folk, which pleases him. He would be happy to call a place such as this his 'home', in the future. But.. One of these 'Wanderers', Arthasdir asked him a question, shortly after one met him, and what seemed to be his 'companion', Sparrow, about his speech. He described it as if one was 'narrating' himself. Now, this was amusing, to begin with, but, it made one question.. Who am 'I'? He was always told in his youth, that it would help him fulfill his duty, if he could believe he was no one. But.. These past few days have shown him that one does not need to forget their emotions to uphold their duty. One must ask Aeirillen about this when she returns home, there is much he has to learn still. Forever living up to his name.
This one shall make sure he brings this journal with him, on his travels. It helps him think. One always wondered why his father kept a journal such as this, and now, he can see why.. He shall purchase a cloak upon his next visit to Thorin's Hall, and perhaps another pair of more fitting boots, one believes his appearance is too 'northern' for these southern lands. Until then, it is back under the bed you go.
