This evening had been nice. Granted, any time spent with Tyulussë is nice… Particularly when I can annoy him a little.
He was in the Hall of Fire when I came there. He was playing music and sadly stopped when he saw me. I like to hear him play… And considering we work at different times (even if I like to see his reaction when I tell him he doesn’t work at all) I can’t listen to his playing as much as I’d like to.
I think we are both ready to leave the valley soon. Now if only I knew who I could safely leave the spider venom samples to… Or… It’s not that much. I suppose I could keep it. But… in a vial… in a travel bag… So many things could go wrong… But on another hand, leaving THAT unattended and in the wrong hands could go wrong so fast too… Ah, I suppose I could leave it to lady Elvealin. She was interested by this research after all…
I wonder if I could push Tyulussë in the river next time he implies I’m working more than anyone else. I do normal shifts, thank you very much. It just happen that I also have a great and greatly entertaining library… And that I picked up music again, for my own enjoyment, so, I agree, it’s not the most social behaviour but… Still.
Tyulussë is ambitious. He imagine me writing a dozen new songs in a month time. And a hundreds of new ones we’ll write together.
Norliriel seems to like our House. Well, I am rather glad. More healers are always welcome. Seriously. The ideal number of healer would be one healer for one Hammerite. Though, as lady Norliriel said, ‘suicidal soldiers help us keep our skills sharp’. And indeed, that’s true. Now I’d love for some less… interesting training. There is something to be said about knowledge gotten from book too…
And here, dear lady Norliriel got us exactly in the conversation we absolutely needed to have that evening to rill up Tyulussë. The coming departure of an expedition from our House to the Hithaeglir, and lord Parnard’s desire to send a few healers with them.
And so, the fun began.
Though I strongly disagree with what Tyulussë says. I do NOT like the order of the Hammer more than him. Anyone who believes that needs to have their head checked somehow… Tyulussë first.
Though, as much as I had fun teasing Tyulussë with the idea that maybe I would join the expedition, which, unless it’s an express order by one of our cauns, isn’t in my projects… and even if it becomes an order I am not sure I wouldn’t rather run away first, ask questions later.
Norliriel told us something along the line of ‘sometimes duty comes first’ in answer to our argument. Frankly I am not sure whether to be amused or annoyed at her intervention :
-First of all, I was teasing Tyulussë, there was no real argument there, not ONCE (I would never dare to try and drug him. Somehow 'peace and love' or sleepy isn’t the results I’m sure to face if I was to drug Tyulussë to keep him with us until the expedition leave the valley…), so it was entirely useless to make such a comment.
-And second, as long as it’s not an order, it’s not duty, it’s voluntary work. Which is entirely different. As of now it’s still voluntary work so any talk of duty is way over the line.
Besides, as Tyulussë noted, ‘it is no sin for us to wander off on our own adventures now and then’. Now, he never said it was potentially deadly adventures, but as we ARE planning to go straight to Eregion…
Though as, per lord Parnard’s order, we need lord Anglachelm’s approval before going off on our own, I feel I should maybe send him a warning. If for any reasons he was to refuse us, Tyulussë spoke of contingency plans. I seem to recall so many awful songs from our shared time in Eregion that I don’t need to look far away to guess at these plans… Poor elf…
He’ll end us shooting us full of arrow or. Or banned from approaching him from closer than a border of Rivendell to the other.
We also met lady Danel in the Hall. She looked well, for which I am rather glad, I must admit. She spoke of missing the old days when we sang and danced… And hinted on maybe some fun coming. I am not sure what to make of that and even less sure of whether or not Tyulussë and I will still be in the Valley to see it…
I also agree with lady Danel. The weather was quite chilly to end up in the river. It has been so worth the forced bath to tease Tyulussë though.
Besides, I’ll get my revenge.
