I sat meditating beneath the night sky of Dunland. So far, my passage through this land had been unremarked...yet I had taken pains that it be so. I did not stop in any settlement, and ate only of the few pieces of waybread that I had brought with me.
For this night I found a secluded corner of rock on the border of the dead lands that led into Enedwaith. There was a small stream of water and grass grew upon its banks; Nimithil could take his rest as well, while I bathed my thoughts in the light of the stars. The world around me fell away and I smiled with the joy of it.
Suddenly, I felt myself pulled away from the starlight. I shut my eyes against the intrusion, yet images rushed at me with even greater speed. Breathless, I stood upon a ruined hill. Beneath me was an empty city, crumbling and dark, but above me a house stood upon the hilltop, wounded and in need of repair yet still reaching for the light of Heaven.
I wrenched my thoughts away from the image, and gazed once more on the fading blackness of night with my waking eyes. My lady had bid me find a house amide the ruins of Edhellond, was this it?
