The inn was quiet when I left, once again just as desolate as the rest of the lands surrounding the plain and open hills that stretched out as far as the eye could see. Yet, there were more than just that that filled my mind, other then the fearful visions of dreaded orcs and the roaming bandits that plagued the East Road. The task ahead. Home, or that which I called home for what would have been my whole life till I had to run from that which bit at my heels. A bad memory, a scent of the past, a bitter-sweet ghost of what was.
Upon my mother's death when me and my sister was but mere sprites, dirty and filthy, playing innocently in the muddied streets of the docks, we were left alone and destitute to fend for ourselves back then. I never knew my father, and never want to, either. A man of ill repute and less scruples in dealing with anything but his own good fortune. Fucking bastard filth eaten, bigot! Oh preserve his mortal soul when I face him one day. Hate noblemen and their hipocritical and oh so high and mighty sneers, leers and falsities, and coin. I never want to be rich man, never had that ideas.
But memories and musings aside. I'm about to set forth on my trip further East, towards a bastion of the Eglain, Ost Guruth.
One never truly appreciate the great beauty of luxury when you find yourself once more on your way. The fine pleasure of a soft bed, a hot meal. And, well, the women too of course. Still strange how that lass in Bree got me all crapped out, actually got me, well, feeling something. Evangelline just has to trust me this time. Of course she understands, she has to. Anyway, pretty sure Taala would hunt me down and slit my throat herself if I waste the gold she entrusted to me for the horse. Honestly, I have been squandering quite a bit in Bree before I left, but I got ways to make up for it in Lake Town.
So far, and for what lies ahead, the blasted demon beast Taala told him about - as black as the bloody night itself, none the less - I've grown to become rather accustomed towards the two beast we travelled with.
Just need to get the wagon back.
