Ale trouble - part 1 - Zigilgund

Dhordur woke up early in the morning, when he had dressed up he walked up to his desk. There he looked a bit at his papers and his maps. He had been working on a plan to take the hot springs back for weeks now. At current state he could not spare any guards to take it, in other words it had to be up to him and two or three others. The weeks up here at Zigilgund had been busy lately, the mines had been taken back with the help of some visitors that was looking for something there. Now Dhordur had stationed eight guards there, at first he only had four there but then reports came in about Dourhand scouts close by.

Dhordur looked out of a window, he realized that time had passed quickly now. He had been sitting at his desk, still working at the plan. He got up and walked outside, hoping for breakfast to be ready. He met Zabad Thorlean, the Master of trade in Zigilgund, just outside his room. They accompanied out to the fire, there some bad news struck them. No fish had been caught this morning for breakfast, other food sources had been less as well. Luckily did Thorlaen have a few rations on him to spare for the breakfast for them both. They talked a bit while eating, about the ale problem mostly. The weeks that had gone since Dhordur came into the Guard Captain position had been without ale for the outpost. The morale was dwindling, the Dwarves wanted their ale.

It was decided after some time of talking that both Dhordur and Thorlaen would try their luck and take a few hides with them and head for the big ''city'' of the Lossoth to trade for ale or anything similar to it. They geared up and packed their bags with hides. They got their goats and head of.

After a bit on the road they came past some huts. Thorlaen got off his goat and head up to the Lossoth living there to ask for the road. He found out that it was straight ahead. They kept going straight by the road. It was a calm day, no snow storms coming there way and not too much snow falling either, perfect weather to travel. They past by Pyndi-peldot, there they stopped as well, taking some rest and eating a bit.

Eventually they head of again, well past mid day by now. A little bit after they left Pyndi-peldot the road was not so visible. Too much snow covered the road, o they had to try their luck and tried going straight. Luckily that was right as eventually they could see the road again and items and things the Lossoth had set up to show the road as well. Soon they came up to a bridge, on it they stopped again, taking a look out over the bay and the long way down. ''Must be close now'', Thorlaen said before they started to head of yet again.

Not far from the bridge the road split up, on the one going east they could see Dwarven made walls and even a Dwarven statue. They got off their goats and sneaked a bit closer to take a look. They guessed that it was either Dourhands or something else holding that wall. As they got closer Dhordur could see two flags on both sides of the gate, but he could just barely make the flag out, it was something on red. They decided to get even more closer and as they did they could see some kind of men folk having camps close by to the wall, just a bit north of it.

On the top of the wall a few guards were walking as well. Now they were close enough, it looked like a crown on the red. Dhordur knew he had seen that before, but he could not remember where or what the flag stand for. They decided to head of and keep going to the ''city'' of the Lossoth. It were growing dark now.

They kept going by the road, eventually they ended up at a piece of the sea with ice on it. There the road ended, they both were confused. Who wold make a road go to a ice sea? They went out on the ice, looking around. Eventually they could make out something and light on the far end of the ice. They headed for it, when they were close enough, Thorlaen said ''Go up and speak with them''. Dhordur went up to the guards at the bridge.

He greeted them both, they had aimed their bows at him s he approached them. He told them who he was and why they were there. Eventually after a bit of talk they unwillingly let them in.

At last it seemed that they were there, now it was night. They had to find a place to sleep at for the night. They walked around the ''city'' and eventually found a fellow Dwarf there named Nef. He let them to sleep in his hut, he even gave them some food. They talked a bit with him and then headed for the bed, they both were rather tired after the journey.
