The Brothers
A fictional account of the Founding of the Shire
By Brablo Boffin
In a time of war and uncertainty in Bree-land, the adventurous brothers Marcho and Blanco find themselves in serious trouble with the Sheriff's Men.
After their troubles in Bree, Marcho and Blanco convalesce and discuss their 'paradise' with Grandfather in Staddle.
Seeking an audience with the King of Arthedain, Marcho and Blanco attempt to gain permission from the corrupt Sheriff Goodtwig.
Marcho and Blanco make their way to Fornost, the Norbury of the Kings, to speak with the King of Arthedain himself.
Arriving at the capital, Marcho and Blanco ask King Argeleb II for his favour in granting the hobbits their own land.
Returning to Staddle, Marcho and Blanco appeal to the hobbits to join them in their newly-granted land in the east.
Having gathered the hobbits in great numbers, Marcho and Blanco lead them westwards - to the Shire.
