Return 2

The next day, I got a visit from my friend Cait, who was overjoyed to have me home safe and unharmed.  I spoke with her for some time, before she mentioned a man she had been tending - one who had apparently been injured in some manner and lost his memory.  His ramblings, she said, made no sense.  Curious, I asked if I could come along and see this man.  It was decided that it would be safe enough, as I would not be alone.  Together, we went to the tavern, where the man had been staying.

We found the man wandering about, Ana was there, as was Rhia, and they were trying to calm him down.  I watched, as the man oscillated between almost catatonic confusion and enraged fury.  His rantings made little sense, only that he seemed to go on about blood, and a battle ... and a silver star.  At one point he seemed to snap out of things, and he spoke his name to us.  However, it didn't seem to last long, before he was off and rambling again about fords and battles and a woman's name.  Ana seemed to believe that wherever the man had come from, seemed to originate in the North Downs.  Thinking about this puzzle, I nodded and told Ana I would go there straightaways and see if any clues could be found to the man's woes.  Ana was not pleased, for obvious reasons, but I assured him that it was a short trip and I would be safe enough.  He finally agreed to let me go, though I was to return in one day's time. I set off on my journey, thinking that I would just have to speak to Altheric later in that day, and secretly relieved to put off the coming conversation.

Somehow things never take the amount of time I think they will ...
