After we returned from Duillond, I found this letter on my doorstep. It was send from an unfamiliar place which is called the northern fortress. The letter was from a supplier named Farald requesting specific ingredients against some disease that plagues those lands. Truth be told, I hardly sell potions against diseases as my kin hardly suffer from it. Men however seem rather sensitive for any kind of disease. More reason to go there and meet their local healer, maybe I can learn a thing or two!
Now let’s see to this list of ingredients.
Five whole bloodwort Roots – Easy enough, I have lot of those just at the greenhouse, a sound choice for a potion against common diseases.
Two cups of winterberries – Odd request, they grow everywhere at the slopes of the blue mountains. I have collected more than enough. But what potential it has eludes me..
Three sweet myrthle roots – Yes, I have some of those, bought them last spring at a market in Bree. Not sure where they grow nowadays, I will bring some along. I wonder if this can be mixed with Bloodwort roots.
Four flowers of the Klamath weed – Took me some time to figure this one out, not familiar with the term Klamath. Turns out it is another name for the common goatweed! He needs the flowers, I better collect some when I pass the Shire, plenty of them growing along the green hills and bogs.
I will also bring some of my own potions against diseases based on a Dandelion flower and Chives recipe. Other than that we will try to sell our wares once we are there. A report of the head of Sabâj, master Khlosi, tells in detail what road we should follow and what dangers we may face. I will keep the letter close, no doubt we will need it. As a last request my friend Azadrud send me a pouch of gems he had polished for a person named Dibri. He asks me to return it to him in Ost Forod. We leave tomorrow at first light, I better pack and prepare for a long march.
