Dear Mother and Father,
I received an invitation to the Grand Order of the Lost Mathom's anniversary. I was a bit nervous about going, as I didn't know anyone invited, but Rua said it would be a good opportunity for me to finally make some friends and to get out of the house. Besides, their Hall is right next door! We have been home from our latest trip for a few weeks now and I felt rather restless, so I put on my white ceremonial dress and went. At the gate was a strong-looking hobbit named Jiro. He welcomed me and gave me a drink. Then I met Simbo, a very charming hobbitlad. He gave me an elderflower, which I put in my hair. There were about twenty hobbits there, all dressed in their finest. I talked to Layra and gave her my present for the anniversary, a brown bear holding a pie and mug. I hope they liked it! I also recognised Anysia, she also lives in Songburrow, near the gate. There was a band and we danced and sang and drank and ate pies. Then there were speeches. The leader of the Order was named Rowana. She was very gracious and elegant. She welcomed us all and told us a little about the Order and hoped we would enjoy ourselves. She also said there was a regular friday evening hobbit gathering at The Green Dragon Inn in Bywater. I would love to visit them, perhaps I can combine it with one of my trips. After the speeches we danced some more and when it got dark, fireworks were let off. It was a lovely evening and everyone had a wonderful time.
Your loving Zara
