True Feelings Revealed
Outside, Fiontann had taken Chaney round to the back of the house. There was where The Bloody Dawn kept there ravens. These were used as messenger birds, for sending important notes or letters to recipients, or quite simply as spies to hunt out targets, or information.
Fiontann asked for Chaney to feed the birds, in which she quite happily agreed to. Chaney loved animals, and until now, were the only thing she could get along with.
She also had a way with animals too, Fiontann had already noticed this with the way she treated Bertnar, her horse. Those two were inseparable, and she spoke to him like a person would talk with another person.
She spoke to the ravens in soft whispers, and they responded to her. He was surprised at this, thinking that perhaps she wouldn’t take to feeding them, let alone communicate with them.
She was, however, still as angry as ever regarding earlier in the evening and the conversation soon came round to the subject of earlier as well.
Fiontann started chastising her in his normal manner, saying how she could treat him, and the Dawn the way she was at the moment. He delivers a simple understandable order, and what she does, simply disobeys it.
She firstly turns up late for a lecture and training, and then to top things off goes against his wishes for her to carry out a punishment for this.
Fiontann would say “How could you, after all I've done for you. I give you a place to stay, to sleep. I give you Bertnar, and you repay me like this!! “
Chaney would reply “How can you treat me like this, a girl………”
Fiontann would cut in “a girl whom disobeys me after giving you a second chance “
It was the next few words that would completely stun him, and if he hadn't already been sat on the ground, he would have fallen in utter shock.
Chaney would say “a girl whom loves you……………… I love you Fion “
He just went utter stone dead quiet, not knowing what to say or put his face. Chaney would simply throw what was left of the bird food on the ground and stomp off over to her favorite place, under the large maple overlooking the small lake.
She would slump down and after a short while Fiontann would follow her and crouch down beside her. He didn’t know what to say at first but would then ask how long she had felt this way.
Chaney would reveal to him that she had felt this way for quite a while now. She would look at him with what could now only be described as watery, puppy dog eyes. The softest look she had ever given anyone in her life.
Fiontann would escort Chaney to his private house away from the Dawn Hall where they could talk. The evening there would end in Chaney giving and receiving her first ever kiss from a man. A kiss from the man she loved with all her heart.
She would never forget the feeling, never forget the moment………………………….The moment she realized she had fallen in love…
