Friends and Enemies

As Annsuel tended to the wounds on her arm, the memory of the long, tiring day filled her head.  It started with a new friend, someone new she could trust.  Although he didn't tell her is true name, and continued with the alias of Ghost, Ann decided she could trust him.  She told him of her involvement of Indignation  and why.  He actually seemed to understand the why.  Though Annsuel showed him the roofs, a nice spot to sit and talk without eavesdroppers.

After speaking with him, Annsuel made her way home.  Levarris was in his chair, guards in the room with him.  When Annsuel entered, he dismissed the guards.  And then Annsuel asked him of Zurich's fate.  None of his responses pleased her, and when she asked if there was anything that could be done, he told her he did not have the power to release her.  Part of Annsuel knew the entire time that asking him would not be affective, but she asked nonetheless.  When she looked into his face, she could see the pain in his eyes, as if Levarris didn't wish for the same fate for Zurich.  Though Annsuel could not figure out whether it was because he knew it would hurt Annsuel or whether it was legitimate empathy for Zurich.

The day wore on, and Annsuel found nothing to aid her in her troubles.  Though she did find later in the evening a noble she had not met, Lord Amnis.  She spoke to him in her common wear, appearing as an innocent young lass.  Though when he went to the back, she slid out the front door, changed to her mask, and came in through the back.  Annsuel met up with Tzu, and the two waited in the back.  Out came Lady Aellewenn, who was clearly upset with whatever conversation she had just had, and followed by Lord Amnis.

The fight began there.

A few heated words were exchanged before Amnis throw a short sword at the two.  Annsuel hadn't planned a fight, she expected him to try to be diplomatic like the rest of the foolish nobles.  But when he threw the short sword at them, Tzu reacted immediately, lunging forward as Annsuel circled around with her dagger in her hand.  The two fought, but once there was a slight opening, Annsuel lunged into grab Amnis and aid Tzu.  But the man behind Amnis shot her arm with his arrow.  Pain flowed through Annsuel as her blood dripped from the wound.  But adrenalin took over her, and she ran to the bowman, knocking him back.

Her dagger plunged into him and Ann could feel the warmth of the blood over her hand.  The man fell to the ground and aimed his arrow.  Though she pressed her foot to where her dagger had entered the man's body and grabbed the bow from his hand.  She was then tripped, falling on top of him.  Lord Amnis, seeing his man's struggle, threw a knife at Annsuel, which cut into her back.  More blood.  After that, Annsuel peeled the man off of her and leapt to her feet, ordering Tzu to end the fight.

They were victorious despite the fact Annsuel had her own blood dripping down her.  The two parted ways, and Annsuel made her way back to Levarris's estate, falling onto the bed and drifting off.  Her strength depleted.  But they were victorious in their fight and the message was sent loud and clear to Lord Amnis.  Indignation was not a group of weak thieves, they had strength and passion.
