Eyes in the Night

Cynraede pulled back the crimson hood as he strode into the manor. He looked around quietly for the Lady, wishing to give her news of the hides he gathered for her. He walked over to the large table, noticing the folded parchment that lay neatly on its surface. His worn and beaten hand reached out to pick it up, unfolding it and doing his best to try and read it. The note was simple enough, and he knew who she rode after. Though even her should not travel the wilds alone. He folded the note back up and walked to the door, he knew what must be done. He stepped outside, feeling the cool fresh air blow against his face as he made his way to a secluded place near the river, and knelt down. "You have protected me and guided me along the path I walk alone. You have shrouded me, you have given me safety. This maiden walks to reclaim what is rightfully hers. Let the night shroud me, let me protect this woman as you protected me. Let me keep her enemies at bay without her knowledge. Let me make the enemies of the light, fear the night once again." Cynraede prayed quietly as  bowed as he looked up into the night sky.  He stood and closed his eyes as he made his way out of Arrowhaven. He would not loose another whom he called friend.
