It was a rainy day in the Shire Homesteads, so I stayed home. It is a lovely place for Hobbits to rest, or do something interesting, like eating. It was unusual, because my sister ( Madolina )was away, visiting her old friend. I don't like to stay alone at home... It makes me feel unconfortable, and alone, but, I couldn't change a thing about that. The worse thing is that Madolina's friend lives somewhere in Frogmorton, so she will be gone for... Ugh... I don't even know! Months, as I remember her saying... So, I planed to not move from my lovely neighbourhood- the best way for me to stay safe and secure.
When it stopped raining, I decided to come out, to breath some fresh air, and to clean the yard, because it was all rainy, and messy, and I wanted to make Madolina proud, when she comes back.
Then I came out. The yard was all... messy, as I said! But, the good thing is that I saw postman putting mail in my mailbox! I was so excited! That was Madolina! I know it was hers letter! I ran to postman and said: '' I'll take that! No need to put that in my mailbox!'' and I took the lovely letters, and sat on my bench, while postman was walking away. I was so excited that I couldn't even open the letter! But, I finally opened it, and found a letter. This is what I read:
TRAGIC NEWS
Sorun! Help! I am in ROHAN in big trouble! Some guardians kidnapped me and took me to Rohan! I never hear of that land, I AM SO SCARED! They said they'll ask me a few questions later, and now I am in some dungeon! They let me send one letter! PLEASE SORUN HELP!
Your's MADOLINA!
Yer see, I can't explain how I felt... I was... Umm... Well... This is what I thought: HOW, WHEN, WHY, WHAT. I was... frightened... scared of loosing Madolina. She was... Well everything I had! I would never have this great house without her! She was my hero! I started to panic. I ran around, because I didn't know what to do. Then I saw someone coming to my yard. It was Miss Madoline, I worked for her for few months. I looked at her- she was all happy, bringing me some fresh apples... And then i realised. Madoline, mother of Lucelotte, Corisande, and MARYLWEN! Marylwen moved to Rohan! Oh my! I just.... Know how to save my sister! I know how! Oh... that's great! I had a plan in my head- contact Marylwen with mail, and tell her to save Madolina! Easy. But I never liked Mary... She just wasn't my tipe. Madoline came to me and said: '' Fresh apples for Sorun! '' I was so excited about my plan, so I said: '' Not now Madoline! Please leave, I have some serious work to be done! '' And she said: '' However... '' Left apples and left my yard. Then I ran into my house, and started writing a letter. I hope Mary will help me! When I wrote the letter down, I went to postman's house (it's in my neighbourhood) and gave it to him. He will send it to Rohan. And then I realised something... What have I done! Rohan's too far away, so far! SO FAR! Oh my... I started to panic again. I ran to my house, sat, and cried.
I cried for last 2 hours. I looked through the window... Maybe there's some hope for me. And then I saw someone comming to my yard- a woman and a Hobbit- Lass. When I looked better, I couldn't believe my eyes- it was Madolina.... and Mary! I ran out of my house, and gave Mary and Maddie a big... big hug. I didn't understand a thing. How could they be here? This might be a dream. Mary said: '' I got something for you!'' and pointed at Madolina.
Later, at Underfoot's house, they explained that Mary was going to visit Madoline in Bree. And when she was just about to leave Rohan, she saw Madolina with the guardians. And she didn't understand- how could Madolina do such a thing to be with the guardians! They said that they found the thief. And Mary said: '' Madolina... That's a joke! She never stole even a thing!'' Then they visited the Guardian's place and found out that they replaced Madolina with a wrong thief. Then Madolina went with Mary to Shire- and here they are!
From that day, I became better, to Mary, of course. I could never forget the thing she did-
she actually saved my life!
Then I learned something- you know who is a true friend in troubles, like this one. That's something I'll keep in my head for the rest of my Hobbit life.
