I sit here at this desk at the infirmary of Bree. Behind me Melowen is recovering of yet another arrow wound. This wound was caused during our reckless effort today. Melowen got hold of a strange letter, I quickly read it when she gave it to me, but I can not recall the exact words. I have searched the entire room, but I can not find that bloody letter! It was a piece of a puzzle I fail to solve. The letter said something about a noble being escorted to the north by the enemy. The letter pointed towards a ruin south of Bree. And that is where we found him, our noble Tidhelm, bound and gagged but alive. A ruin full of man-orcs, led by a cloaked and hooded man which appeared to be a Dunlending.
Back in Bree, Tidhelm was quick to his feet again, to my relief. Although he can be a handful, I respect him. Yet a a strange thought keeps gnawing my mind. At my stay in Bree here, I had time to think through our journey and I fail to connect some dots. All these dots have something to do with the noble.
On our way to the Gap of Rohan, in Dunland, Leofmund found our noble tied and bruised and alone. Why alone? Why was he so eager to find us in the first place?
The following day Leofmund has disappeared, odd.
We lost Tidhelm in Isengard, all memories of that place are not reliable, I know. But I do recall him running off towards a tower in the inner circle. What have they done to him there?
Now, near Bree, we find him alive in a camp of man-orcs. Tidhelm told us Leofmund shared his cell, but that he was fed to the orcs. May Bema watch over his spirit. Why have they spared him and not our rider Leofmund? What special plans had the orcs with our noble?
Where is that letter!!
(OOC: this part was added a day after)
Now one of the honourless sellswords near the poney shouts my name and claims the daughter of Tidhelm is dead. I know his face yet not his name, Eadenswith used to hang out with him. After his claim he disappeared in the crowd, me and my brother searched everywhere, in vein.
What is going on...
