So Comes Snow !

Six inches of snow hit Bree in the last few days as freezing blast sends temperatures plummeting. Breeland and the Shire are on alert for a swathe of freezing air from North Forochel to roar in.

Forecasters predict that much of the North Shire will see the first snowfalls of winter by Thursday next week  with flurries reaching the high hills in the South – and there may even be a dusting in Hobbiton.

The big chill could set in for weeks, markets anticipate a surge in sales of winter goods with extra stocks of shovels , scarves, hats, and  gloves, as well as winter  cloaks. Hobbits of the Shire are  giving the finishing touches to the food stocks in the pantries, getting ready for  a long, hard winter.

Counties all over Breeland and the Shire, including the North Farthing, Northern Bree-fields, and as  far as Trestlebridge and the North Downs, are ensuring they have extra workers ready to keep roads clear and the mountain passes open.

The road to the holiday town of  Winter-home is expected to be open in just under two weeks, ready to welcome visitors, Mayor Wiston Goodnough said "We will be ready as  always to welcome  our guests and provide the traditional Wintry-fun that one can find only in Frostbluff !"

As Breeland and the Shire are braced for the cold, Graeme Tenderlarch, Mayor of Bree. warned: "This is where it all begins in terms of a long hard winter, but we are ready !"
