My excitement can scarcely be contained as we pass through the gates of Imladris the sun is rising over the peeks and shards of morning light pierce the leaves of the trees. A fresh gentle inviting breeze graces our faces as we make our descent down into the hidden vale.
Then I see it, the vale opens up as we pass some tree’s elven buildings matching perfectly and blending effortlessly to their surroundings. The river weaving its way unhindered shining in the glorious morning sun, I am speechless, my eyes wide taking in what I can from the perfection of the architecture and the perfectly elegant elder whom make their way.
The Last Homely House a masterpiece of harmonious living, nature and elven hands woven together in ageless grandeur. Our ponies visibly relax as if home, everyone we pass dips their head in a gentle greeting. To look upon these Eldar is a treat and even when they do not speak there is a grace and countenance that is ever present.
Amorey looked so very happy I saw her face shine in the morning light that warmed our faces, when I look at her I smile inside and out, I am growing ever fond of her.
Our ponies now gratefully taken care of Amorey leads me to the homely house and as we draw near its beauty just increased. Marble work and ancient statues woven into the building in beautiful manner. She would point out to me the sights of the vale from a nearby rise. The bridge of Rivendell, the spire of meeting, the stables in the far distance. Everything had its place and with an attention to detail unsurpassed.
We have been here many days now, today marked by the absence of Amorey while she meets with important Eldar concerning the Rose the key purpose for our trip. I spent the day walking and exploring, I found myself by a small pool where other Eldar seemed to enjoy time to reflect. It was then while gazing at the water I realized my heart was falling for her, I smiled but also grew nervous, she was far more than I, should I dare to hope?
I am happy, and at peace, the Vale is a perfect retreat. Occasionally I would see men wearing what I am told ranger clothing, coming and going on important business.
We spend several more weeks enjoying the Vale its peace and tranquility yet for all of its wonders I miss the simple things too and the food as well prepared as it was lacked gravy and far too much green stuff for my “refined” pallet.
With one week remaining I feel myself drawn ever closer to her, we decided to take another early evening walk while the sun sets, we sit on one of the little grassy hills overlooking parts of the vale, I look at her as she watches the setting sun, sat side by side with the beauty of nature changing from day to night I choose to take her hand gently. We glance at one another and she smiles upon which point I feel complete and elated deep within. No words are spoken just the soft sounds of the river and a perfect evening sky.
